God of Wilderness and Mountain … From: Rev Dr Fei Taule’ale’ausumai
Minister: St Andrew’s on the Terrace New Zealend
God of wilderness and mountain,
you call us out
not always with a map,
not always with a clear horizon.
Sometimes we step forward with certainty,
sandals firm on familiar ground.
But more often
we move with trembling,
leaning into the unknown
where your voice is only a whisper
in the wind.
It is the not knowing
that tightens our grip,
that makes the journey long
yet still we go.
Through valleys shadowed and deep,
through heights where the air is thin
and the sky feels close enough to touch,
we walk with you.
This is the season of Lent:
forty days of wandering hearts,
forty days of listening
for who we are
and who we are still becoming.
You call us like Abraham
to leave what is settled,
to step toward promise
we cannot yet see.
We walk out in hope,
trusting a future
held in your hands,
believing that even uncertainty is a holy place.
